Losing the Plot and Getting Back On Track

Concord Baptist Church Sermon Leave a Comment

Have you ever become distracted from the thing you were meant to be doing?

As we investigate John 21:1-19 on Sunday we’ll see that after Jesus died the disciples had lost the plot a bit too. They forgot what they were meant to be doing after Jesus’ death and brief departure. And we’ll see in this passage on Sunday how Jesus responds.

May we truly know the life, the peace and the joy that Jesus brings this Easter.

COVID-19 Good Friday

Concord Baptist Church News Leave a Comment

Easter has arrived – unlike any Easter we have celebrated in our lifetime.

Instead of meeting together to take communion and celebrate the wonderful thing that Jesus has done, we are continuing to stay at home to help contain the spread of COVID-19.

While we cannot meet face-to-face at this time, may you still know the loving presence of God. May you take the time this long weekend to read and to meditate on the incredible sacrifice that Jesus made on our behalf.

We’ve been looking at John’s account of Jesus’ final days and messages to his followers.

What happened to Jesus was not an accident but the fulfillment of God’s plans and purposes for our salvation.

When Jesus cried “It is finished” he gave up his life so that we could have life in His name.

Join us tomorrow at our 10am premiere for Good Friday.

Update for 20 March:

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and rapid changes in efforts to manage it’s spread, the service for this Sunday 22nd March is cancelled so we can complete an updated risk assessment and best plan arrangements going forward.

For this Sunday, please gather in your home at 9:30am and spend time worshipping God using your favourite hymn or YouTube playlist.  Spend time praying for our community and the broader world in light of what is happening.
