Connect is a women’s ministry that meets every second month. Stimulating speakers are selected to help connect women with each other and God. Connect meets on a Saturday morning and always serves up a delicious morning tea. Women are confident to invite their friends as the programme is relaxed, informative and provides them with a great opportunity to interact with others and make new friends.
Every couple of months, the men of the church host evening events for men at Palapa Hall at the church. These evenings are geared specifically for guys to bring their mates. They’re highly informative with speakers who relate well to all guys. These events highlight the fact that faith can have a real impact in the life of the Aussie bloke.
Our home groups are an integral part of the life of our church. At various times throughout the week, small groups meet to study the Bible, to support, encourage and pray for each other. 1-2-3 Magic is an effective parenting program that aims to teach parents how to deal with their children’s behaviour by using an easy-to-learn signalling system. We run the course twice a year and attract parents from all over Sydney to this highly acclaimed course. The next course will run on Saturday 22nd October.

Evergreens is for the over 50’s and offers a great opportunity to meet friendly people and enjoy stimulating discussion and activities. The Evergreens meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 10am to 12noon in our church hall. With a different theme each month, the programme includes interesting speakers, great quizzes, informal chat, and a fantastic morning tea.
Concord Baptist, in conjunction with World Vision has partnered with North Strathfield Public School to mentor children who are in need of specialised help. Mentors must be active church members and have undergone training to be part of this rewarding program. Coordinator – Brian Lammas. Visit World Vision Kids Hope.
Melody Makers is a weekly music program for preschool children, and runs Friday mornings at 9:30am during the school term in our church hall. Children and their parents will participate in a variety of musical activities together during a 30-min music class (designed for 2-5 years old, although younger children are welcome), and then enjoy morning tea and free play afterwards. Cost is $40 per child per term.
At Concord Baptist we want to connect with those around us and to live out the love of God by loving others in ways that are practical and selfless. We believe that this is simply a part of what it means to follow Jesus.
We are currently involved in a number of projects and activities in our local community, including – establishing and maintaining gardens at North Strathfield Primary School – providing food hampers to those in need inner city Sydney – visiting the elderly as well as bus-driving and providing music at a local nursing home and hostel
CBC at the 2015 Concord Carnival – raising money for the Baptist World Aid Syrian Refugee Appeal.
